5 o'clock in the morning is a lousy time to be awake. It's probably the worst time of the day. 4 has a certain charm. 6 makes you feel responsible, like you're about to go to school or work or something. But waking up at 5 just makes you feel like an insomniac.
The reason I woke up at 5, however, is because of my air hockey table. Yes, you read that correctly. My air hockey table. We've had this thing for a couple of years now, and since I try to avoid contact with Tyler as much as possible, it's not exactly like we play with it anymore. It's got this electronic scoreboard thing that makes noises when you score, or whatever. And tonight, it's batteries must be running low or something, because it's started malfunctioning. I woke up to the sound of this strained, demon-voice buzzing. It was pretty unsettling. My air hockey table is possessed.
I'd take the batteries out, but I don't have a screwdriver.
Anyway, I figured that as long as I'm up, I'd update.
So Thursday night was interesting. Shannon was instant messaging me, asking me to steal a car and take her Bermuda. I assumed she was joking, but I played along all the same, only to discover that, no, she wasn't joking. I eventually talked her down from grand theft auto, and we decided to meet at my house under the ruse that I was going to be helping her with a PIG assignment.
As luck would have it, on the way over she remembered that she actually did have a PIG assignment to do. So we had a study night sort of thing; she worked on her essay and I read As I Lay Dying (which sucks, by the way) for my summer project. We also harassed Zack and redecorated my room. It was fun.
The next day (Friday) I went to the chiropractor to see if he could do anything about my knee. It was pretty weird having Harry Hadley's dad's hands on my back. It was wrong on many different levels. Luckily, the actual manipulation only lasted a few minutes. And it feels better now, sorta. Or I'm supposed to think it does. I don't know.
I find it utterly infuriating that a chiropractor is a practitioner of chiropractic. Stupid English language.
Anyway, I will soon be going to the Renaissance Festival in honor of Nina's birthday. The hour is fast approaching, and I'm excited. I'm going to try to get some more sleep before I have to go. I'll see you all later.
